Tour stop 5 recap.
The event started out Friday night with a Modified single
elimination format in 9-ball which guarantees all participants at least two
matches. The main event and consolation both got down to the finals before the
eight ball started. (The Hovick/Bonde match just had a couple of games to go).
The main event was split by Rob Hovick and Chad Gosz. The plaque went by virtue
of coin flip to Gosz. Tails was the call. Hovick promply stormed out and said he
would never return! Just kidding!
The consolation 9-ball was split by Doug Garn from Sault
Ste Marie MI and Mike Singer from Minnesota. They each collected $150. The Main
event saw a great field of 97 teams. We would have hit 100 but 4 teams had to
cancel due to emergencies. The event began at noon and continued through Sat.
night. The field was narrowed to the final 24 teams and was finished by 6:30 pm
with a one set final. The eventual winners were Hot Styx of Mayville WI. Mark
Lindert and Tony Sellnow took home the cash and 1st place plaques.
They were able to hold off a strong performance by the Jammerz consisting of Dan
Roduck and Mike Casey.
Third place went to the father/son team of Don and Jeremy
Kleman. The Last chance tourney was split by Archie and Luann Henderson and Aces
Wild who came all the way from Adrian MI.
I would like to thank all the paricipants for coming,
especially the Yooper Girls Gone WILD, who provided additional entertainment.
See you at the Olympia Open and stop #6 in Mole
Lake.
